Safronov D. offered to your attention a new translation of the Torah into Russian is unique. Carefully preserving the text of the original and its understanding of the Jewish tradition, the translators nevertheless abandoned the unjustified use of archaisms, from the literary transmission of Hebrew idioms and grammatical constructions alien to the modern Russian language. For the first time, the Russian -speaking reader is given the opportunity to read the text of the Pentateuch in modern literary Russian. During the translation, classic Jewish interpretations were used, primarily the commentary of Rashi.
