The collection first published archival information about the genealogy and the birthplace of the Monk Serafim Varitsky (in the world - Vasily Nikolayevich Muravyov) and his faithful companion of life - the nun Seraphim (in the world of Olga Ivanovna Muravyeva, in the motility of Netrononina) The individual chapters of this publication are devoted to the history of the temple complex in the village of Spassky-on-Uhre (the modern name of the SPAI-ICU), where the future Orthodox ascetic accepted the holy baptism. In the final sections of the book, materials related to the history of the surroundings of Spassky and the fate of the outstanding countrymen of the Monk Seraphim were placed.
