The moral-ascetic work of St. John Chrysostom "to the Stagiria" proposed to readers is written at a time when Zlatoust was still a deacon, and was addressed to his monk friend, overcome by demonic attacks, and concerns the topic of the suffering of the righteous, God"s craft and the malice of the devil in relation to the devil Christians. Chrysostom seeks to console his friend and convey to him that involuntary suffering, including demons, are not without divine passage and plan and encourage the subject to them to transfer them with patience, courage and reversing to the mercy of God, which in turn leads a person to the salvation of the soul in blessed eternity and to holiness. St. John Chrysostom shows the suffering of the righteous and their stamina in these suffering, which has become an example to imitate all the suffering Christians, and offers effective ways to combat the passions of despondency and sadness, which naturally overcome a person in different ones
