The three -part treatise is the fifth and final essay in the I Code of the Coptic Gnostic Library of the Nag -Hammadi opened in Upper Egypt in 1945. The treatise sets out gnostic ideas about the creation and structure of the universe.
In Russian, the treatise was translated by Alla Ivanovna Elanskaya, an outstanding domestic coptologist, honorary chairman of the International Association of Coptic Research (IACS).
