The Monk Paisiy wanted to release a book useful to everyone: to the laity, monks and clergymen, but did not have time, giving all his time and strength to prayer and communication with people who came to him. After the prescription of his letter, the records of teachings and conversations were systematized for the convenience of use in everyday life, because the elder himself said: “The task is that you work, to use the heard in practice.” The Monk Paisius leads us to the kingdom of praise, starting with the simplest and most necessary things: how to understand that prayer for us is an urgent need for how to proceed with it and maintain attention how to deal with laziness and despondency. Handing us such spiritual weapons as a psalter, worships and prayer on the huddles, the elder taught us to constantly pray and thank everything.
