In the history of the Orthodox (and not only Orthodox) theology, the 20th century has become largely "centuries of ecclesiology". This sphere of church thought, for many centuries in the shadow of other theological issues, in the modern era was in the spotlight, which was greatly facilitated by the historical shocks of the last century, which significantly changed the conditions of the Church and directed church communities to the path of in -depth self -reflection. Unfortunately, there is no consensus on a number of ecclesiological issues in modern Orthodox theology. On the contrary, we see that the contradictions and disputes are only intensifying and are currently a real threat to the very unity of the Orthodox world. However, it seems that the way out of this situation cannot be found without a calm joint comprehension of controversial topics. Moreover, it should not be the desire for compromise, but fidelity to the spirit of church tradition and the search for ways to actualize it to solve modern problems. This collection, in the realization of the limited competencies and the capabilities of its authors, is designed to make his contribution to the church understanding of what is happening.
