The collection of scientific articles was drawn up according to the results of an international conference dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the Reformation and held at the Faculty of History on April 24, 2017. The publication reflects both the breadth of the thematic interests of its participants and the variety of points of view and concepts. The problems of the genesis of the concept and phenomena of the reform and its perception in modern science, the features of the “confessional era” and its reflection in politics, culture, and social thought of Europe of the early New Age were affected. The nodal problems of the Reformation at a later time, up to the present, were also considered. Special attention of the participants of the collection is paid to Protestantism in the Orthodox lands and in the USA
