The legendary text of Tibetan Buddhism, known in the West as the "Tibetan book of the Dead". Its goal is primarily practical: to provide people on the verge of death, a kind of "road map" for the upcoming trip, as well as give useful instructions to their relatives. The "Book" was composed by the great teacher of Tibetan Buddhism by Guru Padmasambhava (VIII - IX centuries) and recorded by his wife, Yoga Tsogyal. This version of the book was translated from the Tibetan famous modern Buddhologist and scientist Robert Turman. He also provided the book with comments that make the ancient text accessible and useful for everyone. The “book” precedes the preface of the Dalai Lama, as well as the preface of the Russian monk and teacher of Tibetan Buddhism of the Tenpe lobsang, written specifically for this Russian-speaking publication. It also includes the updated edition of the Russian text, made in accordance with modern Buddhist vocabulary
