A small in volume, but the substantial book belongs to the Peru doctor of theology, historian, professor of the Moscow Theological Academy Peter Simonovich Kazan (1819-1878), known for his outstanding works on church and civil history, as well as spiritual and educational works intended for folk reading.
Many works of P.S. Kazan was published anonymously. The result of the cooperation of Kazan as an anonymous author and spiritual writer Nikolai Vasilyevich Elagin (1817-1891) as an editor and publisher was the publication of a number of books, including the "teaching of the Orthodox Church about the Angel of the Guardian", published in 1872 under the name of Elagin.
