This work is devoted to one of the most interesting and most important phenomena of human disease. The work investigates spiritual, moral and psychosomatic factors and mechanisms of the occurrence and manifestation of diseases from the standpoint of Orthodoxy. The author is trying to answer the questions: what is a person’s disease, how and what spiritual, moral and psychosomatic factors lead to its occurrence, why this happens, what are the mechanisms of its manifestation. The first chapter considers the Orthodox understanding of the phenomenon of the disease and its origin, it is said about a person and his purpose, about sin and damage to human nature, a biblical view of the causes and essence of the disease is considered, and a leopard is given to a modern state of medicine. The second chapter affects the spiritual aspects of the disease, but in the same chapter there are also many reflections on the physiological aspects of the disease. To obtain answers to the questions posed from the researcher, patience and consistent participation in all the reasoning proposed in the work from its beginning to the end will be required. The work contains many quotes from the Bible, the creations of the Holy Fathers and can significantly contribute to everything that studies and interested in this topic, which is in search of answers to these and other questions
