Jeroschimonom Agafodor (in the world, Alexander Ivanovich Budanov, 1846-1920) is one of the outstanding ascetics of the Russian Holy Panteleimon monastery on Athos, the main confessor of the monastery of the monastery of the last twenty years of life. The worthy student of the elder, the follower of Jerome and the abbot of the monastery of Schiarchimandrite Makarii, for thirty years he sought to support the high system of internal monastery life, established in the monastery by his mentors. Father Agafodor left many manuscripts and letters addressed to spiritual children with a detailed description of his spiritual experience. We introduce the reader in our book with some of these works. The texts are printed in accordance with the modern norms of the Russian language with the preservation of the characteristics of the author"s style. The book is intended for a wide range of Orthodox readers.
