The book "Practice of the Bodhisattva" collects lectures of the modern Buddhist Lama, the head of the tradition of Karma Kague Tibetan Buddhism of his Holiness of the seventeenth Gyalva Karmapa Trinla Thae Dorje. His Holiness Gyalva Karmap XVII Trinla Thae Dorje was born in Tibet on May 6, 1983. In 1994, he and his family managed to flee first to Nepal, and then to India. In March of the same year, the boy arrived in New Delhi, where Künzig Shamarp Rinpoche, the second lama in the spiritual hierarchy of Karma Kagyu, officially recognized him with the seventeenth gyala karmapa.
In June 2009, at the invitation of the head of the Republic, Kalmykia Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, Karmapa Trinla Thae Dorje visited Russia. He met with officials and public in six cities of Russia, visited the head of the Russian Buddhists Hamba Lamu Damb Ayusheev and expressed his respect to the imperishable body of Hamba Lama Itigelov in Ivolginsky Datsan (Buryatia) His visit was widely covered in the Russian press
