This book was written on the eve of the great shocks, through which our homeland was to go through in the twentieth century for retreating from the faith of the fathers. The then Russian society can, recalling the gospel parable, is likened to a certain person who, in a tragic blinding, refuses the precious pearl for the sake of brilliant trinkets of the world (see: Matt. 13, 45-46) The creators of the book make a noble attempt to open to contemporaries, and now we are the beauty of the kingdom of heaven, which admires the efforts of prayer on earth.
