This inspired narrative about the earthly life of the Queen of Heaven was compiled by the spiritual writer Avdotya Pavlovna Glinka (1795-1863) The book was first printed in 1840, in pre -revolutionary times it was reprinted 16 times, 6 of them - during the life of the author. Truly - a folk book! During its compilation, Avdotya Glinka primarily used the legends about the life of the Mother of God from different volumes of the Chetya-Minea (lives of saints), combining them into one whole, as well as evidence from the Holy Gospel. For a better understanding of the text, she shifted him from the Slavic language into spoken Russian. May this legend serve about the Blessed Virgin Mary and us to salvation.
