The author is the abbot of the temples of the Resurrection of Christ in Tunisia and St. Alexander Nevsky in Beser Father Demetrius Necateev. For decades, he serves on Carthaginian land, travels a lot, studies archeology and archival materials. In the book, the author introduces us to the history of the origin and formation of the Carthaginian church, with the dramatic period of persecution of the faith of Christ with the struggle for the unity of the African Church.
The book illustrates photographs taken during trips to the region, still storing evidence of former Roman power. The ruins of pagan pagan sanctuaries, the grandiose “Colizes" and theaters that did not spare time, only emphasize the greatness of the spiritual feat of the first Christians.
