This edition publishes the first translation into Russian “The Life of St. John Chrysostom ”by the famous Byzantine church author Nikita Paflagopsky (end of IX - the first half of the X centuries) A characteristic feature of the development of Byzantine hagiography of this period was the creation of new large hagiographic arches based on arrangements of ancient monuments. “The life of St. John Chrysostom ”by Nikita Paflagonsky is one of such arrangements based on a centuries -old hagiographic tradition. In it, materials of earlier hagiographic works created in honor of the saint are rethought and processed.
The application includes Enkomi (commendable word) and two words to transfer the relics of St. John Chrysostom, also compiled by Nikita Paflagonsky.
