For the first time, an attempt was made in the book to reveal the images of two ladies of the Russian Imperial Court of the first third of the XIX century. First of all, to reconstruct the portrait of the daughter of the Pushkin "Queen of Lady", Countess S. V. Stroganova, through her correspondence with Emperor Alexander I and Empress Elizabeth Alekseevna. And also to revive the forgotten image of the granddaughter of Empress Catherine II, Princess Maria Alekseevna Gagarina (nee Bobrinskaya), based on her diary. The names of these wonderful women are known in historical literature, but the handwritten heritage they left makes it possible not only to supplement the information available about them, but sometimes re-look at their images, revise something, and also find out the details of the daily life of the court in the indicated period
