The study of the history of the Pskov Orthodox mission began not so long ago. But, unfortunately, many works on this topic do not differ in objectivity: their authors take only separate fragments and, as it were, “forget” about the extensive source base preserved in the archives on this topic, that is, they use sources confirming only their concepts.
The goal of our work is to familiarize all those interested in the history of the Russian Orthodox Church with the most informative sources on the Pskov mission. That is why we called the publication "History of the Pskov Orthodox Mission in the documents." It consists of two parts.
The first part is devoted to documents from the personal archive of Metropolitan Sergius (Voskresensky), and the second - the judicial investigative cases of employees of the mission. If in the past 25 years forensic cases have been actively studied and used by researchers, then documents included in the first part of the publication from the personal archive of Metropolitan Sergius are published
