The book tells about painting, sculpture, dance, vocal and instrumental music, as well as about literature and verbal creativity, which have developed centuries within the framework of religious culture. We are talking about the relationship and mutual influence of all types of art, about their origins and how they were in the temple. A separate chapter is devoted to the temple as an educational institution and the important role that sacred texts, libraries and poetic contests played in South Indian temples. In addition, the book addresses issues related to the ancient doctrine of races, with the iconographic canons of Hindu deities, with erotic motives and with symbols related to the cult of fertility. Close attention is also paid to the topic of preservation of cultural heritage, the purpose and the spiritual component of Indian art
