In this book, the text of the great repentant canon is completely given, read in temples in the first and fifth weeks of Great Lent. The work of the great chanter of the VIII century of St. Andrew Cretan is difficult for perception, it is full of references to the sacred history, symbols and complex turns.
So that the Great Canon reaches not only the heart, but also to the mind of modern Orthodox Christians, we prepared the publication in which the Church Slavonic text is equipped with vocabulary explanations, and the translation, made by the Russian spiritual writer N. Kedrov in 1914, - semantic comments (compiled by V. Luchaninov).
