“Kindness” - one of the most famous collections of patristic texts in the Orthodox tradition, was compiled by St. Macarius of Corinthian and Monk Nicodemus Svyatogorsk at the end of the 18th century. The Rev. Paisiy Velichkovsky, the founder of the Russian old age, translated kindness into Slavic, and on Russian - St. Theophan the Recluse, the great Orthodox Enlightener of the 19th century. “Dobra love is not a book for the entertainment of a bored mind, not a number of“ psychological sketches ”, not a collection of interesting aphorisms. The truths of kindness are drawn by the letters of the Holy Fathers, who had the mind of God -entrusted and the heart so pure that many of them are in life, on earth, they were sighted by God ... ”
In 1930, the future archbishop of Juvenal (Kilin, 1875-1958), at that time-the rector of the Kazan Monastery in Harbin (China), a thin pastoral and editorial work on the selection and adaptation of the large building of ascetic and moralizing texts was undertaken, constituting kindness, especially for the perception of modern layout.
