Alexander Ivanovich Vvedensky is the largest representative of critical philosophy in Russia. Born in 1856. After graduating from the Tambov gymnasium, he entered the Mathematics Faculty of Moscow University, from where he moved to Peterbourg, at first to mathematical, a year later to the historical and philological faculty. In 1898 he defended his thesis at the degree of philosophy master and in 1890 he occupied the Department of Philosophy at the University of St. Petersburg. Since 1899 he was the chairman of the St. Petersburg Philosophical Society.
A.I. Vvedensky was a philosopher teacher in the best sense of the word: a man who had a wonderful gift from God to lead young souls.
This work was first published in 1896. Vvedensky writes: “We come across the same conclusion everywhere: either we must abandon faith in the meaning of life (and with it the meaning of the moral law), or, believing In it, one must believe in personal immortality ... The moral feeling imposing on us the recognition of the obligation of moral duty, however, requires or, otherwise, postulates free will, the immortality of the soul, the existence of God ... under the influence of the recent domination of materialism and complete decline philosophy of many faces hesitated from faith into immortality, even laughs at it, and at the same time interprets the meaning of life, continues to believe in it, and thus corrupts his mind, gradually accustoming him to extreme inconsistency, to illogicality, and this generally generally dulls in it the ability to feel the truth.

As you can see, the thoughts expressed by the Russian philosopher at the end of the 19th century are extremely relevant for today"s day.
