This work presents a linguistic and theoretical and cultural study of one of the early literature monuments on Buddhist hybrid Sanskrit-a treatise on the ten steps of Bodhisattva “Dasabhumika”, which sets out the stage of spiritual growth of the adept towards enlightenment. The treatise is included as an integral, but completely independent part in the huge compensation of the Mahasanghiks school “Mahavastu”, which is, in essence, the detailed biography of the Buddha Shakyamuni (The Makhasanghiks school played a key role in the evolution of Protromahayan ideas)
“Dashabhumika” acts as a starting point for setting and trying to solve the whole complex of problems of Buddhist philology and Buddhology. The task of the author of the monograph is to create a certain categorical grid using which one could approach the adequate analysis of the huge class of Indian texts.
This study is published at an acute moment of revision of the world"s Buddhism of the History of Buddhism and will contribute to both clarifying the specific provisions of the Buddhist teaching, as well as setting up a number of general theoretical problems. One of these problems should be considered the introduction of the concept of “early Buddhist doctrinal text” (RDT) as a class of canonical works of various schools.
