The work presents the concept and program of the subject "Orthodox culture" within the framework of the educational field "Fundamentals of the spiritual and moral culture of the peoples of Russia" for basic general education (5-9th grades) The named educational field is included in the Federal State Educational Standard of basic general education, is mandatory for study and aimed at acquaintance with the basic norms of morality through the assimilation of knowledge about the religious and cultural traditions of the peoples of Russia. The work presents the conceptual provisions of the development of the content of the subject "Orthodox culture", due to the goals and objectives of basic general education. The program of the subject "Orthodox culture" from the 5th to the 9th grades is proposed, personal, subject and meta-subject results of its development were characterized.
