The personality and activities of St. Filaret (Drozdova, 1782–1867), Mitro Polita of Moscow, have long become the object of attention and study of historians, theologians and philologists. “Chronicle of the life and ministry of St. Filaret (Drozdova)” is a forced chronicle, built by years and months, a set of facts related to the life and activities of St. Filaret. The chronicle includes those church, state, political and literary events that could not but be in the field of attention of Metropolitan Filaret, as well as quotes from his letters, sermons, opinions and resolutions, and from the memoirs of contemporaries.
