The work of Ivan Sergeyevich Shmelev, re-opened in the late 80s of the twentieth century, occupies a special place in the history of Russian literature. This collection includes two works of Ivan Shmelev. The epic “the sun of the dead” is a tragic story about the life and death of people during the period of hunger and fratricidal civil war, described by an eyewitness with pain and fury. The novel “The Way of Heaven”, which the writer dedicated to his wife, tells the story of two people, the poor girl Daria Queen and the wealthy engineer Viktor Alekseevich Vaidengammer, whose love becomes both a test for both of them, and the beginning of their spiritual transformation and path to God
