One of the first monographs of Alexander Koyre - “Studies about Galilee” - is three, according to the author himself, work independent of each other, which, nevertheless, are formed into a single whole. In their center is the problem of the birth of classical science, the formation of the ideas of the New Age, who have changed ancient medieval ideas about the structure of the world and the laws of physical phenomena. Koyre, who saw the scientific, philosophical and religious thoughts in a close relationship with each other, turns here to the plots and characters who will be in the field of attention of the philosopher throughout his creative path. In the “Studies of the Galilee”, he explores the history of the origin of the classical theory of movement and its main elements: the movement of a freely falling body, the movement of the projectile, the principle of relativity of movement, the principle of inertia. The author shows what role in the formation of fundamental scientific ideas, known to all of us today, was played not only by the discoveries of Galileo and other thinkers of the Renaissance and New Age (Bekman, Descartes, Kepler, Bruno, Brage, etc), but also the mistakes made by them. Alexander Koyre (native Alexander Volfovich Koyra)-French philosopher and historian of science of Russian-Jewish origin
