The great prayer book and miracle worker, the holy righteous father of John of Kronstadt (1829-1908) - truly "Source of Living Water" for the Russian people, the zealous shepherd of the Church of Christ, the Prophet, revealed to our Fatherland into the year of great trials.
The description of the life and activity of the saint, who first published in 1909 and compiled by the editor and publisher of the magazine "Kronstadt Mayak, N.I. Bolshakov, who directly knew John"s father closely, is a reflection of the still lifetime glory and the popular veneration of the saint of God. Based on many documentary sources, the book most fully reveals the actual side of the life of the lamp of the Russian land. Events that are little known to the Orthodox reader for other publications are highlighted in sufficient detail: the admonition of Fr. John of the dying sovereign Emperor Alexander III, the struggle against the emerging revolution, the last years of earthly life, death and burial, as well as the first evidence of miraculous help from the tomb of the saint.
For the first time after the revolution, the reprint edition of the book was prepared for printing in 1995 and received the lifetime blessing of the primitive Metropolitan of St. Petersburg and Ladoga John (Snychev).
This publication is the first modern publication of vast labor N.I. Bolshakova, the book is equipped with the necessary notes and an announced indicator of names.
