The book of Hieromonk Seraphim (Rose) “The Soul after Death” has withstood many publications, but the reader"s interest in it does not weaken. She explains modern posthumous experiments in the light of the Orthodox doctrine of life after death.
“Our main goal in this book was to give such a detailed opposition as necessary to show the complete difference between the Orthodox teaching and the experience of the Orthodox saints, on the one hand, and occult teaching and modern experiments, on the other,” the author writes .
Father Seraphim (Rose) belonged to the Russian Orthodox Church abroad, absorbed the Russian Orthodox tradition. Eugene Rose was born in San Diego (California) in 1934 in a Protestant family. In 1956, having graduated from college in Pin, he entered the San Francisa Academy of Oriental Studies. In a state of insatiable spiritual thirst, he found himself in the late 1950s in the Russian Orthodox Church in San Francisco.
February 25, 1962 Rose accepted Orthodoxy with the name
