The book includes articles, essays, publications dedicated to the silver eyelid of Russian literature, monuments of history and culture, revived and requiring restoration. Separate sections contain materials related to the biography and literary heritage of Alexander Blok and searches in the archive of S.M. Gorodetsky, whose first book of poems Yar Blok called Could be the greatest of modern books. Here are printed materials about the S. Gorodets poets, writers, artists and theatrical figures of the Silver Age - Vyacheslav Ivanov, Osip Mandelstam, Vsevolod Meyerhold, Mikhail Kuzmin, Alexander Blok, Alexander Tairov and others. A separate essay is dedicated to the return to Russian literature of Nikolai Gumilyov, whose verses and books have not been published in our country for almost six decades. Among the publications included in the book are letters to the author from D.S. Likhacheva, a wonderful example of Russian epistolary prose, the genre of rapidly leaving in the 21st century into the past. Several essays are devoted to Russian estates, both restored, but requiring constant attention and abandoned, whose parks merged with the surrounding forest, but traces of its former life and the images of their owners still hide in these romantic places. The book “In Memoriam” completes the book, in which the author says goodbye to friends and colleagues who have gone and left memory in articles, books, verses and other “long matters”
