The catalog of the Slavic-Russian manuscripts of the Russian Holy Panteleimon Monastery (hereinafter referred to as the RPMA), published in this volume, provides the most complete information about this meeting today: it gives descriptions of 1435 manuscript units. With regard to the Slavic manuscripts of the RPMA, it is enough to say that in the description of Slavic manuscripts, compiled by prof. A.-E. N. Tahiaos, information about 74 manuscripts of the XIII -XIX centuries was placed. In the unrelated archaeographic materials of the Soviet research expedition of 1983, there are data on 158 manuscript books (including excerpts) for the same chronological period, 84 of them, dated no later than the line of the XVIII-XIX centuries, are included in the published in 1999. Consolidated catalog of Slavic manuscripts of Athos. The published catalog contains descriptions of about 600 books, notebooks and excerpts in Church Slavonic 5 of different departments, starting from the 13th century. And up to the beginning of the present. Such a significant increase in the number of manuscripts is the result, on the one hand, a thorough disassembly of the old library fund, on the other hand, the allocation of materials of an undercurrent character from an open monastery archive that has been processed in a relatively recently and processed in recent years. As a result, the handwritten collection of RPMA (and not only Slavic) appears to potential users - researchers - in the New World.
