In 1992, the Bishop Cathedral determined the celebration of the Cathedral of the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church on January 25 according to the Julian calendar - on the day of the murder of the holy martyr Vladimir (Epiphany), when this number coincides with the Sunday day, or on the nearly Sunday before or after it (on the previous Sunday, If January 25 (Art) It falls on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, in the subsequent - if January 25 falls on days from Thursday to Saturday).
Thus, the holiday always coincides with the Sunday day, which can also come for the period of preparation for the great post or at its beginning. Therefore, the service of the Council of New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church in all three versions includes Sunday chants from Oktoikha, and in the last two versions - from a lean triodi. This edition provides the first option, since in this case the liturgical texts of the new martyrs are presented with the greatest fullness.
All gymnographic works in honor of the new martyrs and confessors of the Russian Church are placed in Mineas. The night before, a small Vespers and an all -night vigil are performed - the connection of Great Vespers and Utepen, and on the very day of the holiday - the clock (3rd and 6th) and the liturgy of St. John Chrysostom.
