The attention of readers is offered the next volume of the meeting of the Homiletic works of Metropolitan Ilarion, a permanent member of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, chairman of the department of external church relations of the Moscow Patriarchate. The sermons included in the second volume are dedicated to various topics, uttered at different times in different temples of Russia and abroad. But they are united by the sign that they are all uttered for worships committed on Sundays, in the days that are called the holidays of Lesser Easter in the church. The appeal to the texts of the Holy Scriptures and the events of biblical history are closely connected in the sermons of Metropolitan Hilarion with the analysis of the phenomena of the spiritual life of our days, the moral state of modern society. The sermons, as in the first volume, are located in chronological sequence, grouped by the days of the church year and by the dates of the civil calendar.
