Jesus of Nazareth is a central figure not only for religious history, but also for all European culture. But only since the first half of the 18th century, a research interest in the reconstruction of the historical fate of this legendary personality appeared in humanitarian science. Over the 250 years of its existence, an interdisciplinary project, called "Search for Historical Jesus", attracted many authoritative scientists who proposed their methodological developments and concepts to solve its main task. The monograph by Alexei Andreev describes the most important works, key theories and "portraits" of historical Jesus created as part of this project. The book will be interesting not only to professional religious scholars and theologists, but also to a wide circle of readers who are interested in the personality of Jesus, issues of New Testament biblicalism and the history of the development of humanitarian thought
