This is the third of the four large meetings of the Palian canon of the Pali Palis. The five, the final part of the sanutta-niki, is called the "Big Book" (Mahavagga) There are rather voluminous chapters that consider various elements of Buddhist practice, such as enlightenment factors, spiritual qualities, the basics of awareness, an octal path, breathing meditation, and so on. In other words, Mahavagga is devoted to the analysis of the fourth noble truth - the truth about the path. The last two sanuttas cost about the last two - about the very initial level of noble students, and about the four truths themselves as such
