The publication was first collected and the detailed information about the patriarchal ministry of St. Tikhon, from the moment of his election to the Patriarchal throne in 1917 to death in 1925, was brought in chronological order.
The study was carried out on the basis of a wide range of sources and is based on documents and materials stored in the state archives (RGASPI, GARF, TRA FSB, RGIA and others) The author analyzes various aspects of the activities of Patriarch Tikhon and presents detailed information about the time and conditions in which the high priest has his ministry aimed at preserving the Russian Orthodox Church in conditions of persecution.
This publication is preceded by the introductory word of Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk and includes rare photographs illustrating the chronicle of the service of St. Tikhon.
