With the blessing of the Holy Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Kirill on May 27, 2017, the conference “St. Ignatius (Bryanchaninov): the 150th anniversary of the replacement” was held in the hall of the church cathedrals of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. The conference was attended by about 600 people. The event was organized by the Foundation of St. Vasily the Great.
The conference was opened by the Metropolitan and Zaslavsky Pavel, the Patriarchal Zkzarh of All Belarus, the permanent member of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, which announced the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill.
The speakers in their reports emphasized the exceptional significance of the personality and creations of St. Ignatius, who convincingly showed the features of the spiritual life of the Orthodox Christian and the dangers standing on her way. The speakers noted that St. Ignatius in his creations gives a clear and accurate explanation of all the most important issues of the spiritual
Life: faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, various types and steps of prayer, repentance, spiritualism and related issues of obedience and life on advice. They also affected the views of the saint to the problems of spiritual education, missionary, interfaith relations. Particular attention was paid to the main topic of the creations of St. Ignatius: understanding of monasticism and its significance in the life of the Church.
