The Holy Hyacinth Rodovonzh was a follower of one of the most famous holy Middle Ages - St. Dominic.
Both of these ascetics of piety belonged to the Order of the Preachers, widely known as the Order of the Dominicans, whose missionaries took on ministry around the world, becoming one of the most important transforming forces of the Church.
Blessed hyacinth adopted a harsh lifestyle among St. Dominic. He was endowed with a humble heart, kept chastity, warmly loved God and his neighbor. Love was so strong in him that wherever he saw the oppressed and crying, he could not but cry with them, and during prayer with tears he begged God to take pity on them. He had a habit of often spending the night on stones in the temple - he rarely had a permanent place to relax. He devoted all his time to the Lord. He always either studied, or preached, or accepted confession, or prayed, or visited the sick, beneficially influencing his neighbors in the word and example of his life.
Pope Innocent XI proclaimed the Holy Giacintus of the Confessor the main patron of the kingdom of the Polish and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania as a sign of respect for his gospel works undertaken by him and his spiritual children in these lands. Thus, he can be considered a heavenly intercessor of modern Poland, Belarus and Ukraine.
The author of this book was born on August 4, 1941 in Kalish - one of the oldest cities in Poland. Father Jan Andrzej Specha was the author of many articles and books about the origin of the Polish Dominican province and the history of the Order, to which he belonged to himself. He graduated from his earthly path on January 2, 2020 in Warsaw
