Alexander Schmorel - an Orthodox German with Russian roots, a medical student from Munich - together with his friends founded the Christian circle "White Rose" and fought with the Nazi regime, telling the truth about it: composing and spreading leaflets. The circle considered resistance to Nazism - as a product of evil - a spiritual struggle and were ready for martyrdom. Alexander was executed in the summer of 1943, glorified in saints in 2012.
