For several years, a painstaking work was carried out in the publishing house of the Sretensky monastery to prepare for the release of the encyclopedic labor of Metropolitan Manuel (Lemeshevsky) "Russian Orthodox hierarchs." In 2002, the first volume of this book was published, the next year - the second, and in November 2004 the publication of the three -volume, covering the period from 992 to 1892. Vladyka Manuel in difficult Soviet years worked selflessly on the collection of biographical information about Russian bishops. Naturally, not all sources were available at that time, not all the information could be verified, therefore, the publishing house, when preparing the manuscript for the press, specified the received information, studied new data on the life of the bishops, unknown to the compiler, and the details of the biographies were completed and adjusted.
