The monograph continues a series of research on the Russian foreign church and covers the years of the reign of Metropolitan Filaret (Voznesensky) (1964-1985) These years have become for the Russian foreign church a period of important decisions, among which the anathematization of Lenin and persecutors of Orthodoxy, the canonization of the royal family and new martyrs, and the condemnation of ecumenism. At the same time, the Russian foreign church was noticeably distanced from world Orthodoxy, became close to the old -style structures, and put the bishop for Russian "catacombs". Much, made by the foreign church in those years, still causes a discussion. Based on the documents of Russian and foreign archives, as well as the emigrant press, the author gave an assessment of the events of this period and tried to answer "uncomfortable questions". The monograph also affected the history of other branches of Russian church scattering - the Western European exarchate of Russian parishes and the North American Metropolis, which became the Orthodox Church in America in 1970
