The Russian people called the Monk Sergius of Radonezh "abbot of all Russia", which expressed the whole width of human veneration and love for this reverend.
The gift of providence, paternal care for the people and the feat of faith in the intercession of God on difficult days for Russia made him a light of earthly life. But the measure of the greatness that the Lord awarded Him is immense - therefore, now we read Him as a great miracle worker, as an unchanging throne for us before our throne, therefore we are in a hurry to turn to him with prayers in grief and joy.
