The work collected in this book of Andrei Ivanovich Pliguzov (1956-2011) form an intellectual biography of the largest medieval spiritual writer, the authoritative founder of the Volokolamsk Assumption Monastery (1479) of the Monk Joseph Sanin (1439-1515)
The collection is torn off two innovative articles. The first analyzes the messages of Joseph Volotsky, the second substantiates the new concept of the folding of his main work - a "book on heretics".
The painstaking work with manuscripts allowed the author to study the creation of the lives of Joseph already in the thesis (1979), protected in Novosibirsk at the Father of the Siberian archeography of I. I. Pokrovsky. The work published for the first time retains scientific significance, as in the depth of conclusions, exceeding the latest dissertations of close topics. The historian devoted several articles to V.O. Klyuchevsky - a researcher of hagiography, as well as reviews of books about Joseph Volotsky
