Until now, no one after Max Weber has created such a fundamental comparative worldwide history of religion at its early stages until the axial time inclusive. In this area, the study of Bella, the largest of modern sociologists of religion, is perhaps the most ambitious and all -encompassing. The analysis of four great civilizations of the axial time undertaken by the author - ancient Israel, Greece, China and India - shows that all existing religions, both prophetic and mystical, go into their roots into the evolutionary process, the history of which is the content of this book. “Religion in human evolution” is an answer to the urgent need for the creation of such a critical history of religion, which would fully take into account all the abilities of a person and all his limitation.
