Prologue in teachings

The Prologue is an old Russian life collection, which leads its origin from the Byzantine monthly sags, in which the lives of saints are located in accordance with the days of their church memory. In addition, the Prologue contains a large number of edifying articles that have never been placed in Greek synaxary. With the brevity of the presentation, they include the teachings of John Chrysostom, Vasily the Great, Ephraim Sirin, Theodore Studite. The “prologue” is decorated with entertaining excerpts from ancient patterns, parables with penetrated thoughts of repentance, mercy, Christian love for neighboring, spiritual perfection and salvation of the soul.
