Priest Alexander Yelchaninov was born on March 1, 1881 (according to the old style) in Nikolaev in the family of an officer. He graduated from the History Department of St. Petersburg University, studied theology and literature. He abandoned the academic career and entered the Moscow Theological Academy. Secretary of the Moscow Religious and Philosophical Society named after Vl. Soloviev (1905) He taught at the Lewandowski gymnasium in Tiflis, then worked as the director of this gymnasium. He left Russia in 1921. He lived in Nice in the south of France, where he taught Russian. He was one of the leaders of the Russian student Christian movement (RSHD) Since 1925, a priest in 1934 was appointed to the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral on the street. I give in Paris, where I served only a week and got seriously ill. He died in Paris on August 24, 1934. He was buried in a cemetery in the city of Medon near Paris
