“Big Sukkhavatyukha Sutra”, dedicated to the cult of the Buddha Amitabhi (Amitayus), is one of the most important canonical texts of the Far Eastern Mahayana and enjoys special veneration among the followers of the school of pure land - one of the most massive and influential directions of traditional Far Eastern Buddhism. The Russian translation offered to the reader is made according to the China -speaking version of Kan Senkaya (III century), which is historically basic for this school.
The publication is focused on religious scholars and experts on the history of ideology of the countries of the Far East, on orientalists of related specialties, as well as all those interested in Buddhism and Far Eastern culture.
