Schigumen Savva (Ostapenko) (1898-1980) - the elder of the Pskov -Pechersky Monastery - is known to many Orthodox people. His spiritual heritage left to us is invaluable. His whole life was a constant feat of serving God and man. According to Metropolitan of Pskov and Porkhovsky Tikhon (Shevkunov), the elder "gave all his forces to thousands of people who flocked to him. He responded to the call of every person, overcoming old age, illness, pain, terrible fatigue. " In a spiritual testament, the father of Savva wrote: "If I gain boldness from the Lord, I hope to petition before him for all you, and especially for those who will remember me in prayers."
