The collection includes twenty articles of Elena Aronovna Gurevich (1957-19, 2018) - an outstanding researcher, translator and popularizer of ancient Island literature. The articles written for almost four decades are devoted to various aspects of the structure and existence of ancient Island poetry and prose, the poetic language, the evolution of genres and styles, the ratio of oral and written, folklore and academic traditions, the reflection of the ancient Icelanders in the literature. The collection is addressed to Scandinavists, philologists, historians and a wide circle of readers who are interested in ancient Neskandinavian literature
