"Pidalion", translated from Greek "fed", is a collection of rules of the Orthodox Church with the interpretations of St. Nicodemus Svyatogorsk, one of the greatest theologians and teachers of the Church. Working at the end of the XVIII century on the compilation of a new canonical collection, St. Nicodemus carried out great research work and selected important and reliable material in order to return the previous importance of Byzantine canonical law. "Pidalion" St. Nicodemus is the fruit of creative and unhappy love for legend. The Orthodox world is studying "Pidalion" as a source of true church teaching. The book has become widespread - today the Greek original "Pidalion" has withstood 18 publications and reprints. In Russian is published for the first time. The first volume is preceded by the study of the modern Greek scientist F. Yang about the history of writing, publication and the importance of this important church-canonical monument and includes the rules of the holy apostles. The second volume includes the rules of the Holy Ecumenical Councils. The third volume includes the rules of the holy local cathedrals. The fourth volume includes the rules of the Holy Fathers, as well as a treatise on obstacles to marriage and samples of some church documents.
